Working for a game company |
So you think it is fun to work for a game company? Look at that Uli, he is playing cool games all day! Well, yes, from time to time I indeed play cool games but this is just a fraction of what I do.
Normally my day starts with checking my mails and answering the urgent ones immediately. Several times a week I also check the most important websites for info and announcements – you need to know what is going on. Then my working day is filled with these tasks (in no particular order):
Handling parts of customer services
Develop games
Doing translations of game rules
Being in touch with authors
Working with artists to come up with the look for a forthcoming game
Selling games
Writing information for industry partners
Trying to acquire licenses and to sell licenses
Staying in touch with partners
Preparing and attending fairs
Of course, I do not do all of the above each day.
Working 40 hours a week? Hah, you are truly funny…this is my constant aim but I always miss it.
Finally, don´t get me wrong: I love my job!
