Rise of Empires - more info |
Early this month I mentioned a few details on our forthcoming Rise of Empires game. Here is a little bit of additional info:
The game is driven by player actions – each player may conduct six actions per game turn. In order of play, each player performs one action at a time. This is repeated until all players have used all six of their Action discs.
With an action a player may either pick an Empire tile (to act on the “world map”), pick a Territory tile (island, plains, woods, hill, town), Trade (getting gold or victory points for resources), pick a Progress tile (e.g., inventions ), or take a City tile (these cost money and sometimes resources and food but earn a player victory points).
In the “A” turn of an era players select an action by placing one Action disc on the Action Display in the row of the action and performing the corresponding action. Discs are placed in row from right to left, one disc per circle.
A player may have as many discs as he likes in a row, however, the number of circles in a row limits the total number of times that that action can be selected (by all players).
In the “B” turn of an era players select an action by removing one Action disc from a row and performing the corresponding action.
